This Reentry Summit centers the voices of individuals with lived experience in the justice system, creating a space for education, inspiration, and meaningful dialogue. Featured are powerful keynote presentations and personal stories by formerly justice-involved individuals who have successfully rebuilt their lives, highlighting the power of education, the unique challenges of post-incarceration syndrome, and navigating successful reentry. At WINTER, we are dedicated to empowering women through workforce development, creating opportunities for growth, and fostering a culture of excellence. We are committed to providing transformative services that support the unique needs and aspirations of the women we serve. We strive for excellence in every aspect of our work, from skill-building and career training to providing resources for long-term success.

The 10-week, tuition-free program exclusively trains, educates and prepares women for careers in the union building and construction trades. The training uses a habit-forming model, which introduces, connects and engages women to harness a lifetime dedication in one of over forty different trades available throughout the region.  Instructors use the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3), from the North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU). The curriculum covers industry and trades awareness, tools and materials, construction math, diversity awareness, sexual harassment, CPR/First Aid, OSHA and financial literacy among others. The enrollment process starts with a two-day bootcamp, designed to assess endurance and mental toughness. At graduation, each participant has the knowledge, skills and abilities to succeed as a tradeswoman.

The August 1st Orientation is mandatory to be considered for the next training class. There are about 30 slots available. Alternative training and employment programs will be provided for those not selected. The event will be in-person at LA Southwest College.


**Registration will begin promptly at 7:00 am. Late arrivals will not be allowed to attend. Please plan to arrive at least 45 minutes early to allow time to park, walk to the location, and check in.** Los Angeles Southwest College's campus is very large. This orientation is for the class starting August 31st and ending October 23rd. Class is Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3 pm. You must be able to attend all classes and arrive on time.


The event will be in-person at LA Southwest College.


For the Orientation, please bring your Resume, California ID, Social Security Card, proof of residence (rental agreement, government mail, etc...), High School Diploma or GED results (or proof that you are enrolled in a program), and be prepared to interview.
